Grand Master Chester Lapointe message for March

To all our members;
To improve and elevate the character of mankind by promoting the principles of

friendship, love, truth, faith, hope, charity and universal justice.
How are you and your lodge living up to that? Do you know why your here?
Can we be relevant in this day and age?
In my home lodge we have a lot of social events and we work on ritual and hold our meetings. And I like to think people take away from the ritual the moral precepts
we seek to impart. So I do believe we are helping to elevate our character.
Do I know why I'm here? I was lucky enough to have a father who was interested in Odd fellowship and got me involved. I am the exception not the rule. Most people have never heard of us or our lessons we try to teach. The reason I stay in odd fellows is to reach

out and share my experience and the joy I have had. Can we be relevant in this day
and age? I think we are more needed now than ever. Young men and women join the work force and have left home already, unprepared for the rough road ahead because
frankly the family unit has disappeared. We need to bring in these younger people because we offer social skill building like oratory and leadership training. People
don't learn how to behave like gentleman and gentle women because there was no one to teach them. People use their phones now for everything and have lost intra
personal skills.

We have all the tools we need to rebuild our fraternity and to help improve the lives of people simple by existing and being willing to share our knowledge. Young people want to learn, they want to belong. We just need to help them make that choice and to be mentors for the next generation.
